About the Author
Always a writer, William L. Culbertson is a retired mathematics professor who went from academic writing to publishing local histories and on to science fiction and fantasy. Career path? What career path? Although his characters have dangerous and exciting lives, the author lives a quiet, mundane existence in a small town in northwestern Ohio. He reads and romps with his dog. That's as thrilling as it needs to be.

A Good Storyline: Not recommended for younger children
By Sue C. Dees
I enjoyed all three books. This one was more challenging because I wasn't sure if this was the finish or not until I got to the end and realized that it was and it wasn't. Room was left to do something more with the story if the author chose to. I like the idea of bonding with dragon eggs and the idea of dual bonding between one dragon and two people was a new approach (at least for me). I think it would be really helpful to be able to tell when someone is lying. I can see how that would really help out in many situations in ruling a kingdom. I did find the use of the word 'rude' to be confusing in the context in which it appeared. "a rude saddle" for the dragon, 'a rude shelter', 'a rude fortress'. I have not see that word used in that context. I am not sure if it is a "local' use of the word or if it was intended to be "crude" instead of "rude". It appeared often enough that it puzzled me.

Superb As Usual

I cannot imagine how long it takes to write these book. There is soooo much knowledge about the war planning and strategies, not to mention the getting historical accuracy of the time period.
I would have like more at the end about Dax and Anna and the future with the kid/s. It would have been an amusing ending with Dax learning to be a father but still solidify a future happiness.
Also would have liked to know more about the Koktel. The book kinda leaves it open whether they go back to the island recluse lifestyle or if they emerge to the world again.
I was under the impression that there were only going to be three books. Maybe you're planning a fourth book and it will cover that. I don't know.
All in all I enjoyed all the adventures of Dax, through the ups and downs of it all, it was a Epic adventure.

A simply satisfying read.

A wonderful book on its own and also a great conclusion to a well-rounded series. Watching who Dax has become through trial after trial is exactly what I hoped it would be when I picked up the first novel when it was on Wattpad. Relatable, inspiring, and addictive. If you enjoy dragons, peril, adventure, and medieval-like atmospheres you will enjoy every sentence. And if you don't, I'd say this book would encourage you to change your mind.
